We have recently learned of the death, this past summer, of Mary Tyler Winters. Many of you may remember Ms. Winters as the great-great grand-daughter of John James Audubon. Over the years she was very supportive to us in our efforts to keep the Tyler Collection at Audubon State Park, while other museums and institutions sought it for their own.

Ms. Winters was greatly respected for her intimate knowledge and scholar- ship of the lives and works of John James Audubon and his family. In this, she is irreplaceable.
